Stress Management

Overview

No one is immune to feelings of stress in their life, but there are many ways that we can minimize its impact on our health and well being. Stress Management is a multimedia program designed to help users recognize the symptoms and sources of stress in their life, and to provide a wide variety of powerful tools for managing stress.

Approach

As is true of all of CWH’s multimedia web-based programs, Stress Management is fully narrated and includes self assessments, video testimonials, animation, and multimedia graphics. The program is designed to help users build resiliency and develop techniques to address the strains and stresses of everyday life. The program contains the following segments:

  • Understand the nature of stress and the stress response.
  • Assess your stress and learn to pinpoint your sources of stress.
  • Learn how to avoid negative choices and use positive coping strategies—your personal “Toolbox” for managing stress. The Tool Box guides users though a series of strategies so that they can find the right approach for them.
  • See and hear from people who have successfully managed stress—and changed their lives for the better.

The Stress Management program can be used alone or purchased as part of the Health Connection suite of programs that also includes Food Smart and Active Lifestyle.

Evidence

Findings from the NIH-supported randomized trial conducted at Ceridian demonstrated effects on users’ stress levels. See Outcome Studies for information on the article published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
